As of December 30, 1997, the fee for
tap in fees was increased to $1680.00.
The tap in fee may be paid to the Authority secretary, Rudy Galayda Jr., either arranging by phone (814-539-1876) or made in person at a regular meeting of the Pegasus Sewer Authority. Persons purchasing a tap will be issued a receipt with the following conditions.
Notice: Purchase of a tap is no guarantee that sewage will be available at any particular time. The Pegasus Sewer Authority will use its best efforts to provide sewer service to as much of Conemaugh Township as possible, however, there is no guarantee that sewer service will be made available.
Tap in fees are non refundable and non transferable. You the customer are being given the opportunity to lock in the price for a tap in fee and avoid any future price increase for the tap in, in exchange, the Authority is receiving your money and applying it towards current projects.
Taps purchased by customers during 1996 are registered and transferable. These initial funds were an investment by our citizens in the project before there was a sewage system and paid for initial engineering and other work to obtain the financial resources to build the system. Those tap certificates indicate they are transferrable on their face. The certificate must be presented for cancellation when used.
At the Regular Authority meeting held on May 27th, 1998, the Board voted to extend the discount to prexisting homes and buildings which tap into the Phase 2 sewer project. Customers scheduled for connection in phase 2 will be extended the discount tap in fee of $750.00 until 60 days after the acceptance (substantial completion date) of the phase 2 project.
At a Special Meeting held September 23, 1998, the Board voted to make mandatory;
- traps in line connecting house to main
- clay dike in trench for the line
The Board also voted to increase the distance for mandatory cleanouts on 4 inch lines from 50 feet to 100 feet.
Mandatory Sewage Connection Ordinance
Lateral and Connection Specifications, Approved at the Board’s May 7, 2008 meeting
